Comparison Calculation Lesson โš–๏ธ

We use three symbols to show how numbers relate: > โ€œgreater than,โ€ < โ€œless than,โ€ and = โ€œequal to.โ€

Think of > as a hungry alligatorโ€”it always eats the bigger number! If both sides are the same, the = sign shows theyโ€™re twins.

๐Ÿ” Three Easy Steps

  • 1. Find each value. Work out the sums or expressions.
  • 2. Line them up. Write the two results side by side.
  • 3. Pick the symbol. Point the alligator mouth (>) at the bigger numberโ€”or flat if equal!
